Olympus SC35 Type 15 Microscope Camera & Tamron 70-210mm f/3.8 – 4.0 OM Lens
Olympus SC35 Type 15 Microscope Camera & Tamron 70-210mm f/3.8 – 4.0 OM Lens
An unusual sub variant of the Olympus OM101, this camera is designed for use as a microscope camera, although it can be easily used as a standard film camera.
The power zoom functionality of the OM101 has been removed, although from personal experience, that is actually a benefit.
The focusing screen has been swapped to the 1-12 variant, showing a large clear segment, with cross hairs.
The manual adapter included with this camera allows for full control over shutter speed.
All cameras are film tested, and any issues found are described below. Any photos you see in the listing are taken with this particular camera.
Lens: Tamron 70-210mm f/3.8 – 4.0 OM Lens
Film speed settings: 25-3200 ISO DX
Film Format: 35mm

Focusing: Manual
Light Meter: Battery Powered

The good:
· For a 35-year-old camera, it is in remarkably good condition.
· Shutter fires well, and tested exposures reveal no timing issues.
· Film transport is smooth and solid.
· Aperture blades move freely.
· Flash hot shoe works as expected.
· Light meter reacts to light well and tends to expose well for the shadows.
· Comes with a manual adapter, original box, and a converter to allow for microscope.
The less good:
· The viewfinder has some minor dust ingress. This does not affect image quality, nor usability.
· The lens itself has a few specs of dust, but nothing that is noticeable in the final images (see attached sample photos)
· The lens is missing a small cosmetic cover on its barrel.
· General wear and tear.
